Let's build something great.
Matatu Rush
An endless runner set in Nairobi traffic — dodge matatus, bodabodas, and potholes to survive the CBD rush hour. Hand-drawn Kenyan street art style, full Godot 4 source, mobile-export-ready.
The joke was that surviving Nairobi traffic is already a video game. So I built it. Matatu Rush started as a 48-hour game jam project and ended up being genuinely fun — especially the bodaboda AI that cuts you off at the last second. Built mobile-first because that's how most people in Kenya play games.
The game uses hand-drawn sprite art in a bold Nairobi street-art style, a procedurally scrolling city background, and difficulty scaling that ramps up every 500 metres. There are three playable characters: pedestrian, cyclist, and delivery rider — each with different hitboxes and abilities.
The Godot 4 project exports to Android and iOS out of the box — this was built to be a mobile game from the start.
